Adobe Creative Jam... WE WON!!!

Let me start this off by saying that… This competition was held way back in September of 2018 and to be honest I just for whatever reason constantly forgot that me and my partner Shane Won! Like I always talk about the experience but I always forget the fact that We won.

First of… you go into the competition without knowing who is going to be your partner or Team mate. I was lucky enough that I got paired up with one of the best people I know and have been fortunate enough to have worked with previously Shane Valentine. Which for me felt almost like a strategy because we know our work and creative process really well, and they are kind of similar. Then we proceed to go into the room in which we are going to be given our theme to which we need to create the design for. Our theme was …

“ TAKING DREAMS SERIOUSLY FOR 40 YEARS, AND BEYOND” …

My face when I heard that theme … -.-

We just look at each other like what the actual F**k are we supposed to do with that…but we start brainstorming… ( by the way you only get 3 hours to come up and create complete piece) and we decided to create a piece highlighting our Mentor which is Emily Wray who is turning 40 and has been working as a professor at Full Sail University who is celebrating its 40 years. And just show or tell the story on why she is our mentor and how lucky we are that Full Sail has her on their team and was able to give that gift to us.

We start working on a magazine spread that will showcase Emily’s biggest project which is the RISE Model. (Read more about it on her website). And we are using some Photos that Shane took of her for her Birthday which was literally a week before. And after going back and forward a million times… 30 minutes before our time was up we decided to Scratch our current design and start all over but with the same concept. And this was our final product .

We then needed to present and explain our design in front of everyone and the panel of judges. We were supper nervous I am not going to lie, most of the designs that were presented were amazing and I thought we were not going to win.

Anyways the nerves were killing us, but at the end of he night we Won and I am so exited about it! It is something that I never thought I was capable of doing but I did with the help of my Mentors and great partner Shane!

I want to finish this off by saying that I want to congratulate everyone that competed!
