SELF-Portraits... or selfies?

I clearly know I have a good side... As you can see in the photos above. But it is because this is how I see myself. For me as a photographer, I love taking pictures of myself, I honestly don't feel like this makes me narcissistic, or full of myself... It is a way to make me feel better about myself.

DOES THIS MAKES ME A FUCKING WEIRDO?

I honestly don't know... But if it does who cares? This whole process of taking self portraits makes me feel a lot better about my self, like I mentioned before, but it also helps me get to know my self. From the moment I start setting up the lights and start doing my makeup, hair, and choosing an outfit. I start over analyzing how I want to represent my self at that time.

I have found that I end up being really uncomfortable with a lot of make up, but only when I am taking the self-portraits with my camera and lights. but when I am taking selfies with my phone is a completely different case, I love doing my makeup and taking selfies with my phone. ( Yeah... I know its fucking weird)...

I find it completely interesting that I want to represent myself in a very simple and (i like to call it) raw way. And yes sometimes I wear eyeliner and mascara but that is it, I don't apply any foundation or contour my face or anything like that because I don't wear any of that on a daily bases. And I am still trying to find out why is that.

Anyways I just thought about sharing the reason why I like to take self portraits and maybe encourage some of you to give it a shot. Like I mentioned before it is a confidence booster and it helps you get to know yourself.

Let me know what are some of your techniques for confidence boosting, and getting to know yourself.

Here are some more portraits from my last session.

Lighting: 1 light set up with a soft box.
